If you’re newly engaged, there is so many things to do! Who to tell, what to post on social media, how to start planning your wedding and so many other tasks. One of the first few things when you start planning is booking a photographer and planning an engagement session. You might be on the fence, how important is it and why should I have one done? What’s the point? Here’s 5 reasons why!

1. GET TO KNOW YOUR PHOTOG
 

An engagement session is like a test run! Your photographer is way more than just your photographer, they’re someone who will be there all wedding day with you capturing your unique details and intimate moments and of course witnessing one of the most significant & emotional days of your life! So it’s a total give in that you’ll definitely want to “click” with your photographer. If not, things might be awkward and might make it hard to loosen up on your wedding day! 

2. GET COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA
 

I know how awkward it might feel to have your photo taken. Where do I look? Do I have a double chin? What the heck do I do with my hands?! If you feel like this and go stiff in front of the lens, don’t worry! Having an engagement session with your photographer will allow you to feel more comfortable and feel more relaxed about the process afterwards! This way, the day of your wedding you’ll be a natural pro!

3. CAPTURE THE SEASON OF ENGAGEMENT AND BOND THROUGH THE ACTIVITY
 

Being engaged is a fleeting time and is a time of transition- shifting from a dating couple to being married! And Sometimes it’s hard to find time to just be together, without distractions! During your engagement session, you’ll be totally focused on each other and your connection – and that right there makes the photos turn out way better! Wedding photography is a large investment of your wedding budget, and it may be hard to envision what your own wedding photos will look like even after looking through countless samples and galleries. Having engagement photos taken is a great way to ease your mind and make it easier and clearer to imagine what kind of photos to expect of your wedding!

5. USE THE PHOTOS FOR WEDDING PURPOSES

This is probably the most common and popular reason couples take engagement photos! You’ll have so many reasons to use your engagement photos for your wedding. Whether it’s save the dates, thank you cards, wedding website, guest book, the list goes on and on! These aspects of wedding planning with definitely benefit if you chose to do a engagement session!
