THE BEGINNING

My story starts growing up in a small Prairie town, as the awkward introverted only child with glasses, wild curly hair & probably a puppy in tow.

I have always been inspired by looking back at old film photographs, feeling the nostalgia in those moments captured.  Growing up I didn't know what those feelings were & couldn't put a name to them, but I adored looking a photos of my parents when they were dating, family road trips to the West Coast & me cuddling on the couch with my grandpa. Even at an early age, looking at those photographs was incredibly impactful to my memory of those moments.

When I was in high school, I had no idea what the hell I was going to do with my life.

Keila Marie Photography was really started on a whim. After being apart of my high school yearbook class & constantly borrowing my teachers camera, I started photographing my friends, mutual friends, families & photographed my first wedding at only 17 years old. I never thought twice about it, it just felt right. I went on to college, completing my Diploma of Professional Photography from PrairieView School of Photography in 2015. 

After my diploma program, I dove head first into starting my own business. I hustled my ass off  those first few years with no back up plan in mind & before I knew it I was full time with my business, booking out a year in advance & never really looked back.
